Who am I? Why and what is this blog about? Who is it for?
A blessed son of a selfless, hard-working, and brave mother, husband of a beautiful lady, and a father of kind and smart twin boys, I am also a passionate design thinker, curious researcher, creative problem solver, strategic thinker, inspiring speaker, driven entrepreneur, hopeful architect, and an optimist … simply stated I am potential in quest of true fulfillment and realization!
A few years ago, my good friend – Luke Rumley encouraged me… “Sudhakar, you have so much knowledge, and out-of-the-box thinking and you inspire executives and customers so easily with your thought leadership, why don’t you write your blog and share it with the world? So many people will benefit from what you have to offer.”
I got fired up and started blogging, but after a few blogs, I stopped for a while – that went on for years. Something was holding me back, my IMPOSTER syndrome:
- I am knowledgeable but not an authority.
- What am I really going to write about? Is that not already written online, by so many people?
- Writing is not natural to me, and my writing skills are not good enough.
- Will I have things to share consistently and over time?
- ??? and 100 other questions put me on hold, freeze, and eventually, I gave up – the Nth time.
Recently, I came across a book: Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. I found it very simple, profound, and authentic. I immediately connected with the key messages from the book …
- Share what you love, and the people who love the same things will find you.
- Don’t think of your website as a self-promotion machine, think of it as a self-invention machine.
- You just have to be as generous as you can, but selfish enough to get your work done.
The messages were so inspiring that I decided to blog again.
I will post my thinking, my mind, as it conceives and evolves without any specific structure, order, or expectations but will be intently listening and looking out for echo and feedback. Finally, I hope to evolve with the blog.
The sole purpose of this blog is to self-invent!
